I have girl problems, can you please help?

There's this girl who I'm really interested in. She fits many of things I'm looking in for a potential mate- she's extremely smart, she's talented (she writes, draws, photographs), and she kind of fits a I have (she kinda looks goth/punk). But there's a problem, she lives in another city. We never really met, but I always had a slight crush on her during our high school years. She's a genius. She never had many friends and I saw her alone for the most part, but was to shy to approach her. One day I ran into a web article of hers that she does for school, and read it. She's great at writing! Anyhoo, I emailed her and we talked for a short period of time via email, but she told me that I payed her one of the best compliments she's ever heard of and hopes we meet in the future. I wasn't trying to be too forward, but apparently for the better or worse, I wasn't enough. I mean she started to reply right away, but one day I didn't reply soon enough, and haven't heard from her since (about a week). It turns out that the email I have been contacting her is her school email she uses for art projects and essay projects, and she's on break, which means she isn't using it. I really like this girl and would like to some how meet her and date her, but I don't want to go about it all wrong where I appear to forward or stalkish like.. any advice?
