New tattoo on calf....?

Nearly a week ago I got a tatt on my calf and now my upper leg (mustle) hurts. I don't know if it has anything to do with the tatt, but I don't think the tatt is infected. there is no puss coming from it and I'm not fevering but the tatt is still a bit red. (In one specific area) I believe the red is just basic skin irritation. I've been using a&d ointment on it and wash with dial soap. (Anti-bacterial, non-scented). My question is; is it normal for the red to still be in the tatt even though its scabbing and flaking? And about my upper leg mustle to hurt. I will picl best answer.
