Tourettes is a neurological disorder that usually shows up earlier then high-school. If she got it as a teenager there could be a more serious underlying issue. You should treat her normally and don't be ashamed to ask her about it if you sincerely want to know more information, it might be nice for her to be able to give her side of the story instead of what people say.
