Can someone understand what she's up to? Cause I can't .?

So I use to talk to this girl and she told me she liked me and so on and I did the same and she would also tell me she loved me, well one day she told me that she didnt want me talking to her and that she wanted me to leave her alone and so I did but her cousin told me that the only reason she told me that was because another girl asked her out and she said yes and she didnt wanna hurt me so she found the best way to not hurt me was to stop talking to me, so now a week after she tries adding me on facebook. I dont understand why she would friend request me if she wanted me to leave her alone? Does someone maybe has reasons why she would want to add me? Does she maybe want to start talking again or what? I'm confused, pleeeeaaaeee help me thank you
